LaLa's Argentine Grill appears on Melrose like a little diner oasis out between the trees. They have a glass-ceilinged open-air seating area that is truly something to brag about. When I first had dinner there, I was really looking forward to a juicy Argentina-style slab of steak, and I can safely say that they delivered the goods with flying colors!
I ordered the bife encebollado, a skirt steak with grilled onions, garlic and parsley, with french fries on the side. It was thin, but perfectly cooked, and the onion topping added a flavorful crunch to each bite. Although I was only able to finish half of my steak, the leftovers made a great sandwich the next day.
I'd say this is a great spot for a dinner with friends, or a casual date. And don't worry vegetarian friends, they have a few satisfying options for you as well (the brochette de vegetales looked amazing)!
